African Dance with our Seniors!

Tips to ace your 1st and every dance audition!

1. Prompt =Professional: Be sure to be on time and by on time we mean at least 15-20 mins early.  You never know what might happen with the auditioning companies schedule and in years of experience is shows luck favors the prepared. Being on time can also help you get prime positioning (not directly front center but front and 2-3 spaces to left or right)

2. Get plenty of rest: Start off your audition day being well rested, stretched and prepared.

3. Confidence over cockiness: Judges and companies love the ability to express yourself with confidence but be sure to walk that fine line to not be cocky about your talent.  Accept compliments with a humble heart and give twice as many!

4. Dress to impress: Always be sure to dress professionally and suitable for the dance style you are auditioning for.  Different parts call for different costuming.  Be sure to research what the role/style you'll be auditioning for so you can dress accordingly.

5.  Leave your heart on the dance floor: The main thing to remember is that you can never redo the first or any audition so while you are there give it everything you got! When you leave your soul on the floor then you know you gave it all you could. No Regrets!

Techniques for Perfect Turns!

Perfecting your spins in any dance genre is something that takes lots of diligence and time!  You really have to focus and practice to perfect.  I really like this video for practicing techniques for more advance multiple pirouette spins! Happy Spinning!
